Miss and Mister Supranational Attend Namibian National Final

Hours after representing Namibia at the country's National Day celebrations at Expo Dubai 2020 with the leaders of her country, Miss Supranational 2021, Chanique Rabe arrived in Windhoek alongside the reigning Mister Supranational, Varo Vargas from Peru, to attend the crowning of Miss and Mister Supranational Namibia 2022. It was the second edition of the female competition and the first time that the competition also had a division for gentlemen.

The event was held at the Windhoek Sports Club and was hosted by former Miss Namibia, Odile Gertze, and public speaker Norbert van Wyk. To the delight of the audience Vargas, the reigning Mister Supranational, took to the stage to perform one of his songs while former Mister Poland, Daniel Borzewski also performed a music and dance number that had that crowd going wild.

Jean-Louis Knouwds (30), a radio presenter from Windhoek, was named the first ever Mister Supranational Namibia, while Julita Kitwe Mbangula, a 26 year old junior medical doctor, took home the title of Miss Supranational Namibia 2022. They will represent their country at the next editions of Miss and Mister Supranational this July in Poland.

Rabe and Vargas will now spend some time in Swakopmund before traveling to the Nambwa Tented Lodge in the Zambezi region this Friday where they will be part of the African Monarch Cup by African Monarch Lodges. This football and netball tournament started as an incentive for the community to keep the area clean, while also giving the youth of the Mayuni Conservancy an extra-curricular activity to promote their health and fitness, which was a request from the youth themselves.
